How we work

From first enquiry to written advice, and what happens if you engage us after that.

  1. 01

    Book a consultation

Choose a time online or call. Tell us in a few lines what your situation is. No documents, no payment.

  2. 02

    The consultation

Typically 45–60 minutes, in person at Blacktown, by phone or by video. We go through your circumstances, your history, and your objectives, and we tell you what the law allows. If there is bad news, you get it in the consultation rather than after you have paid for something else.

  3. 03

    Your written assessment

Within two business days you receive a written summary: the pathways available, the obstacles, the evidence that would be required, and our recommendation. This is yours to keep and to act on however you choose, including without us.

  4. 04

    If you engage us

You receive a written services agreement setting out the scope, the fee, and what is excluded, before any further work begins. Fees are fixed and quoted in advance. Government charges are separate, are paid by you to the Department, and are never collected by us.

  5. 05

    Throughout

You are told what is happening and when. Under the Code of Conduct we are required to keep you informed, to act in your interests, and to keep your matter confidential.

What we will not do

  • Guarantee an outcome. No person can; anyone who says otherwise is not being straight with you.
  • Encourage a claim we do not believe is genuine.
  • Collect a government charge on your behalf.
  • Continue acting where a conflict arises.
  • Charge you for work outside the agreed scope without a further written agreement.
